Multi-functional Building, Medellín
Following the success of the Gimnasio Vertical model in Caracas, Venezuela, which serve over 15,000 users on a monthly basis and have been correlated with a drop of crime rate in their respective areas, the Chair is developing a Vertical Gym for the city of Medellin, Colombia.
Like their counterparts in Caracas, these sports zones are strategically located to bring together a clientele both from nearby informal settlements and barrios, and more developed parts of the city, fostering togetherness through shared athletic activity.
This project is part of the broader Urban Transformation Program headed by the ETHZ via the Chair, with the support of the Swiss Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).
