Sarajevo Urban Transformation Project
The Sarajevo Urban Transformation Project proposes a digital decision making Design tool for planning the city over the next 30 years, contributing to the revitalization of the Marijin Dvor neighbourhood in Sarajevo.
The implementation phase of the project has four key elements: 1) a collaborative City Action Lab Workshop Space to function during the entire lifecycle of the project as a working and exhibition space with periodical multi-stakeholder workshops and a permanent staff. 2) the preparation of the urban and architectural designs for innovative Urban Prototypes for the reactivation of the core of the Marijin Dvor area, and 3) a customized Digital Tool to support in the elaboration of the General Urban Plan Sarajevo 2040, digitizing part of the process of community engagement on the scale of the Sarajevo Central Zone, while supporting the informed decision-making of local authorities.
As a multi-stakeholder project developed between Switzerland and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Sarajevo Urban Transformation Project / Reactive Sarajevo brings together the ETHZ, the Swiss State Secretariat for Development (SECO), the city of Sarajevo, and the University of Sarajevo, among a myriad of partners at every scale.
