Dr. Kretzer's PhD thesis, entitled 'Incremental Light Space: Reducing Socio-Technical Night Time Public Space Inequalities in Bogotá Through Lighting Technology and Design For Informal Settlements', drew on quantitative and qualitative research to reflect and innovate on the role of public lighting on a field site in the informal settlements of Bogotá, Colombia.
The PhD defence on 29 January 2021 included Prof. Fabio Gramazio, Prof. Dr. Andreas Wenger, Prof. Christian Werthmann, as well as Prof. Klumpner as the main supervisor. In attendance were key partners, including members of the Zumtobel Group, whose support was crucial in making Dr. Kretzer's research possible.
