Together with partners from the Civic City network, we will be presenting our exhibit 'Sitting Matters: Imagining Social Relations by Designing Public Space'. Sitting or seating, the provision of a seat or seating, the arrangement of material for a seat as one of the most basic human activities in private or public urban environments is the point of departure for our installation «Sitting Matters». In our cities of today, we often find that sitting has lost «form and function». As integration of high-tech and artisanal furniture production our prototypical pilot-project invites visitors of the exhibition to re-learn sitting, repairing, producing and engag- ing in the re-colonization of public space.
