Faced with the challenge to reintroduce duality between humanity and non-human beings, nature and urban environments, and inspired by the insights of Brazilian indigenous leader, environmentalist, philosopher, poet, and writer Ailton Krenak, who advocates for the reforestation of cities, we are convening this meeting to delve into the interconnected issues of the climate crisis, social inequalities, and urban ecology.

Conversations will take place with Thiago Guarani, Karaí Djekupé (araguá Indigenous Land), Amanda Costa (Perifa Sustentável), Guilherme Simões (National Secretary for Peripheries at the Ministry of Cities), and be moderated by Gabriela de Matos (Arquitetas Negras, ZeroCem, Golden Lion at the 18th Venice Bienal) and Fernando Túlio (ETH, IABsp, ZeroCem).

A regional book launch for our book, SDG11: Transitioning to Sustainable Cities and Communities, will also take place, featuring Prof. Hubert Klumpner (ETH, Urbanthinktank_next)
