Urban Lab Pumpna Stanica
Exploring Urban Atmospheres
How are cities reconstructed over time, urban environments, and the relicts of history appropriated by people where cultural practices manifest between formal and informal practices programs, and digital tools of the 21st century?
Sarajevo`s turbulent history of political and socio-cultural shifts created a spectacular archival collage of multilayered urban morphologies and urban responses to temporal crisis in what is known as the Jerusalem of Europe. The livability of cities will ultimately depend on accelerating the performative potential of the city’s urban commons, networks, natural resources, tangible and intangible heritage.
Students will visit the chairs collaborative City Action Lab, engage with the Sarajevo Urban Transformation project with SECO, and will interact with students of the University of Sarajevo Faculty of Architecture. During FS/21,* the chair will have a permanent presence in Sarajevo, with the “Studio-Mobile” in the city supporting the studio work- an experimental and actionist gathering and producing knowledge.
