Dr. Michael Walczak
Born in Nuremberg to a Polish family, Michael a architect, researcher and lecturer. He has studied architecture at the Bern University for Applied Sciences (BFH) in Burgdorf, where he attended a project semester at Stanford University and an exchange semester at the Bremen University of Applied Sciences. For his interdisciplinary doctoral studies, Michael graduated with distinction from the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, bridging his work with the ETH Zurich Institutes Laboratory for Energy Conversion (LEC) and the ISTP Urbanization Research Incubator. His doctoral dissertation is titled “Digital Urban Imaginaries: Digital models transforming citizen-centred design processes”. He has been part of the Chair team since 2017 and is currently a Post-Doctoral researcher leading the Sarajevo Urban Transformation Program.
